@Eichi I'm not using OpenRC nor SystemD as of now in #OS1337, but I don't consider it a "Desktop Distro" by modern standards unless you think an i486SX with 80×25 MDA is "peak desktop"

@nflux @sasutina13 np.

I am working on a distro (#OS1337), but I acknowledge that it ain't even remotely near what you're most likely looking for on a desktop…

@Ruyynn thx.

Feel free to ping me once there's like a all-in-one binary to plop down, I'll give it a spin.

  • If it works on #mkroot (which is basically the upstream of #OS1337) I'm confident it'll work on _OS/1337...

@Ruyynn sounds cool.

I just need to find a way to bundle it with like a python runtime as statically linked binary if I want to get it to work on #OS1337.

@FawnOverFun nano is good.
I prefer ne but either way, I can see the "no bullshit editor" approach of nano as net positive

@reiddragon problem is that allegedly #vim also does the same, not only #neovim.

  • Maybe someone will just yeet all the #claude commits and do a nvim-ng or nouveauvim instead?
    • Cuz personally I think the ability to turn it into a real #CLI / #TUI-based #IDE with #Lua instead of #VimScript really made it nice.

Espechally with #nvChad being a nice default…

Did someone do a #neovim-fork before it got #SlopCode added to it?

@WeirdWriter Granted, I don't use Windows but I do prefer simple applications that I can just download and run in a pinch...

For #OS1337 I did write myself a wishlist as I try to make it something I could daily-run.

  • Cuz I think that #FrugalComputing has it's merits, and being able to design a device with a runtime measured in days would be kinda useful...

@monkey well, I do have the same issue.

I'm working on @OS1337 for that reason.

As for #Browsing, @ActionRetro made #FrogFind

Attached: 1 image Thanks to a donation by @[email protected], I've been able to test @OS1337 on a real #EeePC701-4G and so far this seems to have only some minor hiccups. - OFC I've first ran into the #137GB barrier with the #BIOS when booting my regular #Vendoy drive but then again at the time the #EeePC was released, 240GB SSDs were unobtanium and would've costed propably more than a dozen 701-4G's retail...
