Hello @daj
Would you TagPush adultism, proZionism, Germany?
You may appreciate that Germany is of interest (unlike Deutschland) because it is used by English speakers: who are very dispersed.
Already in the suggestions: decoupling, culturalBoycott, genocideSupport, ReboundEffect, silentSunday, standWithIsrael, workCollectives.

"The paradox of education is precisely this — that as one begins to become conscious one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated. The purpose of education, finally, is to create in a person the ability to look at the world for himself, to make his own decisions, to say to himself this is black or this is white, to decide for himself whether there is a God in heaven or not. To ask questions of the universe, and then learn to live with those questions, is the way he achieves his own identity. But no society is really anxious to have that kind of person around. What societies really, ideally, want is a citizenry which will simply obey the rules of society."

"A Talk to Teachers" James Baldwin, 1963

"People seemed to find the concrete nature of it satisfying — this specific school, these specific kids, this specific problem solved."

Why do we spank our kids when we would never hit an adult for something? And keep in mind, we’re hitting these kids for WAAAY less severe reasons than something you’d hit an adult for.

“I was spanked and I came out fine!” Did you really, though? And was it really okay, just because it was normal back then? I was never spanked as a kid, and I am still not being spanked, but I’m not some trouble making demon (not saying it’d be an issue if any kid was,
but still). Maybe you should check yourself and your parenting. 🤷

How can you look at your child sobbing and crying while you hit them for the slightest mistake and think THIS is discipline? Or how it’s only okay if you label it as discipline simply because they did something ‘bad.’ If they weren’t acting up, you definitely wouldn’t be calling it discipline. So what makes THIS discipline? Honestly disgusting. The psychological effects things like these can have on your kids is crazy.

Think about it as a dog (not saying kids are dogs, but, nothing is wrong with being compared to a dog. we like dogs around here). If you hit a kid (and a dog) after they do something you perceive as bad without telling them why it was wrong, the only thing they’re getting from that is “my parent hits me everytime I do this, so now I should be afraid of them and walk on eggshells continuously. (but I still do not get why this thing is bad, only that it IS bad and I will suffer the consequences if I do it)”

Babe, your kids are afraid of you. They don’t respect you, they’re terrified of you. Your kids went no-contact with you because you failed as a parent.

The director of the institution, Pierre Silviet-Carricart, has been charged of the case of sexual assault. François Bayrou asked the investigating judge for a meeting at his place. The discussion was around the risks for the Bayrous' son, then a student at the boarding school. François Bayrou's wife attended the director's funeral in 2000.

At Parliament, on 11th February 2025, François Bayrou was representing the government for the weekly question-and-answer session. When asked about #Bétharram, he stated before the National Assembly that he had "never been informed of any violence, and even less of sexual violence".

François #Bayrou is the current Prime Minister of #France.

In 1996, violence was denounced in the elite catholic school of his constituency. He made an official visit as both the then Minister of National Education and a member of the National Assembly for a seat in Béarn (the province of the school). He told the regional press: "The people of Béarn felt these attacks with a sense of pain and a sense of injustice. […] All the checks were favourable and positive."

I gotta admit, I’ll never understand why its ok to say “I don't like children” when its clearly not ok to say “I don't like Queer people”.

Seems like we’ve just normalized #adultism.

'love and respect demand that every human child be treated not as “the property of parenting adults to do with as they wish” but as their own person with their own rights. “When we love children,” hooks reminds us, “we acknowledge by our every action that they are not property, that they have rights—that we respect and uphold their rights.” '
