#steamcontroller paid. Now all I got to do is wait for it. How long did it take you guys from the payment to the actual delivery? I'm in Europe (Finland).
also the #SummerGameFest main man posted a picture of #steam coming out of a street construction site, so I guess this weekend we'll know the price for the #SteamFrame and the #SteamMachine
Valve is going to have to pivot from "Selling a console alternative at $499" to "Selling #HalfLife3 machine for $1,200".
The more time passes, the more cooked the #SteamMachine looks to me. We're talking hardware from 2022 (Zen4, RDNA3) being sold as novelty in 2026.
For $1,200, you can get a very powerful #RTX laptop.

Valve released another small update to Proton Experimental for June 1st, to bring in some fixes for running Windows games on Linux / SteamOS.

Valve still hasn’t announced the Steam Machine, but the backend keeps filling in. “Welcome to Steam Machine” onboarding screens just showed up in Steam’s backend, and the code reuses the existing Steam Deck guided-tour framework rather than building something new. Layered on months of SteamOS support notes and earlier reservation code referencing four package IDs, the sequence looks more like launch prep than a placeholder.

I... ugh... might have made a silly...
Bf set up a weekend outing, which is awesome.
Coincidentally, the place we went to was 30 minutes away from someone selling a whole #bc250 server...
As in, the full rack case, with the 12(!) blades in it, the two PSUs, and the SCREECHING LOUD fans...
So, expect a dozen ex-mining blades to hit the market as #steammachine soon, I guess?
Yay for getting those things out of the mining and potentially AI churn, maybe?
Also, from what I understood from the seller, they have A LOT of those available, so I might be able to liberate more of them, with any luck.
Valveの「Steam Machine」が発売目前か!内部データに初期設定が追加され、大画面でのプレイ環境が目前に。
