Wow, the director of "Under The Skin," one of the most gripping scifi/horror films of the last 10 years, has a new film about a family living next to Auschwitz during WWII, where they "live a mostly peaceful, mundane life, while incinerators rumble in the background, smoke rises from the gas chambers, and muffled screams can be heard." It's apparently wowing Cannes:

Stunning 3-minute time-lapse of a gorgeous geomagnetic storm caused by a coronal mass ejection from the sun hitting earth on March 23. Free WaPo article about the long-overdue #FDA move to make #Narcan, the nasal spray that reverses #opioid overdoses, available over the counter. But $47 will be prohibitive for many folks.

Hopeful: The FDA will probably also approve over-the-counter status for "RiVive, a spray manufactured by Harm Reduction Therapeutics, a nonprofit that wants to sell its low-cost nasal naloxone to harm-reduction groups at cost, for $18 per unit."

Always amazes me how much mashing up canned chickpeas with a fork gives you a texture like flaked tuna. Added a couple dollops of mustard, diced cucumber, jalapeño and onion, cayenne and garlic powders and some mayo (not vegan tonight, sorry). You can add dried nori if you want more ocean flavor but I was out. Served in heated whole wheat tortillas with a bit of avocado and cream cheese. So quick, filling, and delicious, w/lots left over for the next few days.
