De Mexicaanse autoriteiten hebben maandag twee topcriminelen gearresteerd, onder wie Audias Flores. Hij was de rechterhand en mogelijke opvolger van de onlangs opgepakte 'El Mencho', de voormalige leider van het Jalisco-drugskartel. El Mencho werd in februari gedood tijdens een inval door de Mexicaanse autoriteiten.

22 boeddhistische monniken zijn op een luchthaven in Sri Lanka gearresteerd, nadat de douane 110 kilo aan cannabis in hun bagage had ontdekt. Volgens de douane had elke monnik ongeveer vijf kilo kush bij zich, een sterke vorm van cannabis. De drugs waren verborgen in speciaal aangebrachte zijkanten in de koffers.
