Completely mind boggling to me that we threw away 5 billion phones in 2022.

Some of those could have been repurposed: smartphones are hardly innovating any more. The most eco-friendly phone is the one you already have.

We need to publicly support communities like @postmarketOS who work on making these phones repurposable, and @gnome that work on making a polished mobile experience that serves people, not creepy corporations.

E-waste: Five billion phones to be thrown away in 2022

Billions of phones will be hoarded in drawers and cupboards or thrown away rather than recycled, studies suggest.

Finally added a page for the GTK inspector on the GNOME developers docs website: https://developer.gnome.org/documentation/tools/inspector.html

This way, I won't have to point people at the wiki any more.

GNOME Developer Documentation

Some have rolled their eyes at the "paranoid" requirement from the #Debian community of in-person gpg key signing as a step to become a Debian developer, and it's often been a real barrier.

But I'm reminded of it at the #OSSummit keynote today as the #Linux Foundation's Jim Zemlin talks about the xz vulnerability and identity verification of developers.

It was never paranoia. It doesn't solve everything, and people can still be dishonest, but it was never excessive paranoia.

Learnt from Duolingo today that 'zero' in German is 'null'. Must be frustrating to German engineers. πŸ˜
