It sure would be nice if people who are demonstrating Gnome to others would show them a default layout like Fedora runs vs Ubuntu with its modifications.

I know I've been harping on Gnome recently but does anyone know of a "app is ready" notification remover that works on Gnome 50? I've tried a couple, don't recall all, but just tried https://github.com/v-dimitrov/gnome-shell-extension-stealmyfocus and it didn't seem to do anything at all after enabling. Thanks!

The Bluetooth Battery Meter Gnome extension is really amazing. It’s made my CMF Buds Pro 2 even better and given me full control of them from my desktop. These were already punching way above their price class, but damn, my Bose QC Ultras have nothing on these.

It’s even given me control of my Apple AirPods Pro 2 buds that I just never use anymore. I had to go grab them from a drawer and give it a try since they were listed as supported and just wow.

My Bose headphones need an account and a phone app to adjust anything on them. It’s ridiculous that these others are now more open thanks to the open source community.

My $40 earbuds are more usable than my $200 earbuds. SMH.

The documentation is amazing (seriously, it’s great) and they offer a FlatPak app if you aren’t using Gnome.

Apparently this "File" thingy in #Gnome's Online Accounts provider thingy for #Nextcloud doesn't do anything anymore? I thought it's supposed to add access to Nextcloud to Nautilus? 🧐

Or is this a #CachyOS bug?

So, uhm… I'm trying #Gnome once again (because I really like it if it doesn't crash on me) and do I see that right: The #Nextcloud adds additional folders for every synced folder pointing to the folder *on your PC* which you effectively can't get rid of (no settings for it), but neither the "Online Accounts" for Nextcloud nor the app add a WebDAV entry to access the whole cloud space which would actually be useful?

And this design issue is known since 3 years?

This makes absolutely zero sense.

🧵 8/n running #FydeOS on that tablet is certainly a better experience than #LinuxMint or #Ubuntu #Gnome #Linux.

I don't regret nuking #Windows, and paving it over with FydeOS.

In particular, in touch-only/tablet mode, FydeOS actually enables me to operate my #KeePass password manager!

Neither Mint, nor Gnome managed that! (those seem to have X vs Wayland issues, that translate to inoperable KeePass apps)

AFAIK, FydeOS even encrypts my user data - not reliably confirmed/tested, though.

Writing has been much more frequent in my life
since apprehending a first fountain pen.
It really is like magic, pervasive. It crawls in to
ones mind, compelling action, eluding to
what might be possible.

Art and music need to come back in to daily focus
alongside this. A fine trifecta.
I am glad of people encouraging superior pen love.
Dip pens are still better at some things.
...but now I need more pens and nib types...
