Hello! It's my first post here (#newhere) and I have no idea what I'm doing.
I'm a musician from Eastern France, playing medieval instruments and recording pagan folk / neo folk music.
I've released two albums so far: Leaves Are Falling (full length, in 2020, feat. among others Michalina Malisz, ex-Eluveitie) and Prelude to Farewell (EP, 2024).
I'll upload some music videos here soon.

Mastodon is running over hashtags so it was quite good to put the new here tag into your post (also called toot).👍🏾
Make sure to follow not only interesting people but also topics you like in a hashtag form to fill your timeline with stuff your interested in.
For pictures it is a good tone here to put a form of alt text into its description. Doesn't need much as a example for your introduction pic it could be "me in historical garment in front of a castle wall playing my favorite instrument" so people that rely on Screenreaders like blind or visual impaired people can get the jist of your picture.🙂

A person with long dark hair playing a hurdy gurdy (?) and wearing medieval clothing- a purple tunic, leather arm guards & black leather boots -strolls on a gravel path beside a tall stone wall. Some green plants are growing at the base of the wall, in the background is a stone arch. The only incongruous element in an otherwise medieval looking image is a metal temporary fence just visible between the tall wall and the archway

@legarcondelautomne hi there, yes! it helps people with low vision & also those with bad connections where the images don’t always load.
I also really like the added explaination (eg I would have checked the altText to see if it really was a hurdy-gurdy)

You might find you get better engagement if you include altText on your photos as many people won’t boost without it, there are lots of people with low vision on here & no one wants to exclude anyone
