<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">Sanofi (NASDAQ:SNY) and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:REGN), today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the extended use of their blockbuster drug Dupixent (dupilumab) for patients with a type of skin condition. The companies confirmed the regulatory decision on Friday, marking an expansion of Dupixent's app Dupixent is a fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits the signalling of the interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13) pathways. It is not an immunosuppressant and has become a significant treatment option for several inflammatory conditions driven by type 2 inflammation. This latest approval is expected to make Dupixent available to a broader population of patients suffering from the newly indicated skin condition, offering a new therapeutic option where needs may be unmet.
