Iβve been wanting to make bird-themed bag charms for a while, and Iβm so happy I finally decided to work on it. Iβm so excited!!
I went for birds I see a lot when Iβm out birdwatching and that are endemic to my region. The only odd one out is the black swan. We donβt have them around, but I think they look cool as fuck.

Sometimes (not often), my digital illustrations begin with a traditional sketch.
I donβt love sketching with graphite, because itβs too easy to erase and forget to go with the flow. This one is a ballpoint pen sketch that became one of my favourite illustration of the year!

Something a little different for Day 7 of #pleinairpril but also VERY much out of my comfort zone. π
I decided to challenge myself with observational sketches on a hike, and itβs HARD doing anything halfway decent if you canβt place your painting surface OR your arm anywhere stable. π€
Even my handwriting looks like π© this way. π
BUT I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and plan to keep working on these types of sketches. :)

@lindenshieldarts has been dragging me along with her for #PleinAirpril so much that I bought a dedicated sketchbook. I have been enjoying it a lot though! Especially this morning when I spotted an Eurasian nuthatch that stayed around for quite a while!

A couple days ago I went past this concrete tunnel and instantly knew I had to paint it and add some eerie glowing eyes. π€
I fumbled a bit with the colours and lighting but think I managed something decent in the end.^^
