My hologram volume shader is available now! I'll post it to godotshaders later, but you can get it on itch now.
It's based on the thickness of the object so it gives an illusion of volume.

Recently saw a video where Linus Torvalds spoke about how much of a pain it is to ship binaries for Linux (due to the distribution chaos).
It's a common argument and definitely a valid one.
However I always saw this as something positive. If source is available, package maintainers can make binaries. So it's kind of a filter to maintain Linux having mostly FOSS software. For the rest we got flatpaks and whatnot. And I feel this is a great separation.

Alright I've ranted enough on the game dev side, time to rant on the film side:
I'm looking through some various pitches people have submitted for shorts and a lot of these need CG for them to work.
The thing is CG is kind of our struggle boat right now (for various reasons) so these are big hurdles to clear.
Now most of these people have done small stuff before but I'd still consider many to be pretty green (including me). I wonder if trying to push more CG-less ideas is the way to go?

Mastodon includes a built-in post scheduling system, which lets you create posts that will be automatically published at certain times and dates. However, you need to use a third party app to access this system.
There's a list of apps that support post scheduling (and also answers to common questions about scheduling) at:
My indulgence in small Switch experiences brought me to Fire Tonight, a puzzle game set in 1990 and soundtracked with a killer synth-pop score. Half of the game is a fun puzzle of moving through a city and the other half is a dull point and click experience. There is a rollerblading bit that shakes up that formula and it's overall a short, moody experience that has tons of style and quite a lot less gameplay.
