This is fun. I like it. It’s not *entirely* true, but it should definitely be the start point. PostgreSQL is great, as is the #postgresql sql syntax, which is becoming the defacto sql ‘style’, including in #duckdb. Also, the page doesn’t mention standardising on one query language, rather than many. Also, Postgres isn’t great for columnar operations which is its weak point.

I predict that on premises AI / LLMs will significantly grow as a focus area in the coming years as models get better, and compute (especially with unified memory) continues to get better. In conjunction, I predict that currently subsidised cloud AI / LLMs will become enshittified with ads as they desperately seek to become profitable.
