Remember, there’s no middle ground here. You can’t be half a white supremacist, half a nazi, half a fascist. There’s no such thing. Ask any victim.

The other day, I put "Sequoia" up into my PayHip store.

It's the first book I ever self-published, a cute short story that's difficult to define. There is time-travel, but also a shamanic quest, a tree-hugger and an old, grumpy guy. Also, my first queer character.

If that's your kind of thing, take a look!

#WritersCoffeeClub – 18 Dec. Are there writing ‘traditions’ which ought to be preserved?

Yes - writing without using AI!

Just stop trying to force everyone into jobs that don't exist, then punishing them for not being able to find one! Simplify benefits by giving people a UBI. Let people who want to retire early and leave the remaining jobs to the younger people with kids to feed!

Man, AI is taking the joy out of a lot of what I like doing on the internet.

I LOVE finding new music and bands. But are they AI? Can I tell for SURE? Always at the back of my mind.

I also really enjoy looking at artwork. Same story.

I've now become hesitant to commit to enjoying brand new creative projects of any type, and that sucks.

So, for those of you who at least post that your stuff is AI... I don't wanna see or hear it, but I at least appreciate that you tag it. Meh.

14. Shameless someone else promotion day.

I wanted to promote @saposcat 's The Nightplummer & The Mockemortician but am ashamed to admit that I still haven't finished it. I love it but it's slow reading for me because my English isn't good enough to get all the puns and wordplay right away. I'm at the point where I want to take notes because I'm delighted and amused by so many phrases. Which is extremely rare for me to do.
So, I did promote it after all, didn't I? 😆

I also want to point you to his website:

https://www.walterthinman.com/

There's art there, and a comic, and more, and don't miss out on Author Day and Author Day revisited.

Walter Thinman's Bookery & Sundry

There is the enchanted forest everyone knows The one where everyone goes And knockoffs that are pretty good With a sense of magic in the wood And others off the beaten trails Of which you’ve likely heard tales Then there are the rare few Whose enchantments are actually true But far away from any of these Grows a grove of ordinary trees With an air of the otherworldly Here find my Bookery & Sundry Come inside; feel free to explore And when you leave, please close the door Click on the image below to enter the Bookery. Image Description A brown cabin with a green roof with a sign that says Walter Thinman's Bookery & Sundry.

Got up at 3am to get in a 6am flight after roughly 4 hours of sleep. Made it to my mammogram. Managed to get some chores and shopping done. Maybe bought a little too much takeout.

And then spent a relaxing night playing Mario Kart World.

Oh wait no, spent a frustrating 2 hours trying and failing to troubleshoot why the display drops out randomly when the Switch 2 is docked. 😡

Answer to yesterday's #ScribesAndMakers guessing game would be the very next line in the song, sung in a passionate plea by Cindy Wilson:
Give me back my man by the B 52s

BY THE WAY, I forgot I've also added Garden of Rotten Roses to the sale, so you can get BOTH books in the series at a nice discount! 😁💜

(And I also just realised that I forgot the link in the original post. Yes, I suck at marketing!)

#ScribesAndMakers sharing a line from a song I like...

I'll give you fish, I'll give you candy.
I'll give you... everything I have in my hand.
