I'm a fan of hopepunk but I think that we sometimes forget that cyberpunk is inherently hopeful, too. Maybe it's because so much cyberpunk has been de-punked into the neon-liberal aesthetic, and really, the punk is where the hope lives. It's the hope of the swimmer who's about to try punching a shark in the nose, but some might argue that that's the most important hope of all.
