Imagine you're a visually impaired Mastodon user and your screen reader encounters a post that says something like "A stunning view I saw this morning" or "This is hilarious." But the image is the equivalent of what you see below: a blank. Wouldn't it be frustrating to encounter post after post like that?

Describe images. It's an act of love. Describe them as you would to a dear friend you were talking to on the phone.

A lot of discussions being had about the fedi right now can be boiled down to the fact that capitalism has eaten itself all the way into our brains and we value quantity much more than quality.

I'm not on here to be on the biggest instance. I'm not on here to get the most followers. I'm not on here to follow the most people. I'm not on here to post, fav and boost the most posts.

I'm on here to connect with people, share cool stuff, talk about mutual interests, act in solidarity, learn new stuff, have important conversations, and make sure that everyone has a good time.

Those goals can't be reached by getting more and more people onto the fedi and staying in contact with the largest instances no matter the cost. I would even argue that having quality interactions on here is actually hampered by that.
