I've been told by Twitter 'numbers'-type accounts that Mastodon is rife with racism, far-left extremism, white-only bourgeois values, paedophilia; it's an echo chamber, it's dangerous & unmoderated, it's too controlled, it's woke, it's full of anarchists. I mainly see academics' cat pics...
In Oas, Albay, R surnames are prevalent. Indeed, the changing of the names of colonial inhabitants are the indelible marks of colonization. It marked an erasure of a large portion of the populations' indigenous identity replacing it w/ a "Christianized" Spanish surname.

Slow moving traffic towards Makati.
Traffic problem expected to worsen as Christmas season nears.

This drone video also shows why we should invest more on efficient, affordable public transportation.

Would be great if the PH news outfits would also begin their own Mastodon accounts.

My primary purpose for Twitter anyway was news. 🐦

Trying to wean myself off Twitter & all my favorite #Boston / #CambMA area transit & political folks seem to have landed here. As an #introduction, I’m a soon-to-be 2nd term #MAPoli State Rep, proudly representing most of West & North Cambridge as well as 2/3 of #Watertown

Why city planning needs diverse perspectives.

Touring possible commuter cycling routes.

What I saw - Smooth pavement. Separate from traffic. Shade. Not too busy. Perfect.

What my female partner saw - Blind corners. No lighting. No escape routes. Too few users. Wouldn’t use this route.

#Introduction

It's going to take some getting used to, this jumping to Mastodon.

I'm a writer/editor at #Rappler, and I enjoy reading #news about #videogames, #technology, and #tokusatsu such as #KamenRider and #SuperSentai, among other interests like #anime and #jdrama.

Looking forward to meeting and reading things from new people, including messages from within the #journalism space, too.

Cheers, folks... and "Hello, World."

The EU curve doesn't look so exponential though...

Picture of the Week: Exponential growth in #EV sales continues. Over 25% of new #cars sold this year in both #China and #Europe are electric. 4 Years ago, #EV purchase rates were 2%. In 2018 there were 1.8m EV sold. This year it is likely to be over 11m up 70% on last year!!

That's all I've done, and I've found almost 2,000 interesting people since April.

BUT, you can do something I couldn't...
