She says her goal was to help #incarcerated people who wanted to donate organs to #nonincarcerated loved ones. Unfortunately, #MA #HD3822 is not the way to do that, as her and Rep. Carlos González's amendments show. 🧵1/
I know it is so naïve to believe that talking to legislators will change anything about #prisons or #policing, but I deserve some sort of award for the e-mail I just wrote.

I am extremely concerned about HD3822, introduced by Rep. Judith García (#Chelsea/ #Everett), "An Act to establish the #Massachusetts #incarcerated individual bone marrow and #OrganDonation program."
This bill would allow the harvesting incarcerated people's organs or #BoneMarrow in exchange for as little a 2 months good time (time off one's sentence). This is a disgusting abuse of a vulnerable, literally captive population.
