Since late 2024, more than a million people in Lebanon have been displaced at different moments of the conflict. In a country of around six million, this scale of movements is equivalent to displacing over 57 million people in the United States, fundamentally altering how space is inhabited and organised. The changes I observe do not only reflect the disruption of the old urban scene, they point to war as a mode of spatial production.

Tushar ChauhanOwning more than one home should be a privilege, not a right. Turning basic needs like housing and food into instruments of wealth is absolutely disgusting.
What amazes me is how my "liberal" friends and acquaintances clutch their pearls at this. It's easy to talk about equality and social justice from behind a keyboard and a six figure income.
We want justice. No, not like that. Not at the cost of our own privilege!

Situation is getting *dire*. My friend barely has the funds to even get to appointments now, their bank account is that low. They still need $1200 monthly rent, plus food and post-op care costs, and their landlady is *still* refusing to help them with the housing costs!
