Horses relaxing after a hectic Christmas.

It seems appropriate that we thank @ruud @jeroen and others responsible for #moderation in mastodon.world instance.

We created our account here uninvited and from the very beginning we received a great #support.

On the very first day some Holocaust deniers tried to troll the account. The moderators reacted immediately and, which is very telling), we actually did not experience anything like this afterwords.

We also got #help when we had technical issues with account verification.

#thankyou

So apparently James Cameron commissioned a scientific study to prove that both Jack and Rose could NOT have survived on that door if she'd skooched over (only one of them would) because science.

But I still can't let go of my irrational anger at Rose because come on man, LOVE means skooch over! πŸ˜‚

Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Wooden barracks for prisoners at the BIIa sector of the camp.

(πŸ“· https://www.instagram.com/mlnrndrs/)

The sector was established in August 1943. It held prisoners undergoing entry quarantine, which usually lasted three to four weeks.

At first, it held more than 7,000 prisoners, but in the spring of 1944 there were times when this figure fell below one thousand.

"On Auschwitz" (10): Living and sanitary conditions as well as camp clothing at Auschwitz by On Auschwitz

The horrible living conditions created by the SS authorities in the block and barracks in all parts of the Auschwitz complex as well as the appalling sanitary conditions contributed to the exhaustion and death of many prisoners. The clothing which was completely inadequate for the weather conditions also had negative effect on the condition and health of the prisoners. Dr. Jacek Lachendro of the Auschwitz Memorial Research Center talks about the living and sanitary conditions and types of camp clothing.

Given the repugnant statements from the right regarding the attack on 82 year old Paul Pelosi, I am heartened by the outpouring of sympathy and best wishes for the daughter of Ted Cruz, who like far too many of our young people, seek refuge in self harm.

It’s a hidden epidemic that is all too often swept under the carpet. While there is NOTHING on which I agree with Ted Cruz, I wish his daughter nothing but my best wishes for her full recovery, hoping she receives the help she needs.
