Oh, before I forget, Windows 10 nag screen regarding paying for extended service.

Be frugal, don't sign up for that.

Microsoft will push free security updates to you for a good while. Typically, years.

For a couple of reasons.

Organizations have always paid good money to MS to keep an OS version or applications alive long past their end of support dates.

You'll be good at least until the 3 years of the "extended support program" are over.
