Wir bemühen uns, alle Menschen einzubeziehen, und bitten Euch, uns Eure Bedürfnisse mitzuteilen.

Das Fediverse ist keine Plattform – es ist ein eigenes Universum. Es führt Microblogging und Longreads, Videoclips und Bilder, Podcasts und Musik und vieles mehr zusammen. Es läuft auf unterschiedlicher Software und wird von verschiedenen Communities betrieben, aber alle sind durch offene Protokolle miteinander verbunden. Was es zusammenhält, ist kein Unternehmen oder Geschäftsmodell – es ist ein gemeinsames Ideal davon, wie wir online kommunizieren und wer die Kontrolle darüber hat.

Immer mehr Menschen fragen sich, wo ihre Daten gespeichert werden, wem ihre Feeds gehören und ob es eine Alternative gibt zu den kommerziellen Plattformen, denen sie nicht mehr vertrauen. Der FediDay ist eine Konferenz, bei der Menschen zusammenkommen, denen diese Fragen wichtig sind – um von ihren Erfahrungen zu berichten, um Code weiterzuentwickeln, zu diskutieren und laut nachzudenken, um gemeinsam Lösungen zu finden.

Vielleicht bist Du bereits auf Mastodon, Pixelfed oder PeerTube unterwegs. Vielleicht berühren dezentrale soziale Medien Deine Arbeit, ohne dass Du Dir dessen bewusst bist.

So oder so: Wenn Du etwas zu sagen, vorzustellen oder zu fragen hast, laden wir Dich herzlich ein – Entwickler_innen, Forscher_innen, Journalist_innen, Jurist_innen, Künstler_innen und alle drumherum.

Das Fediverse und die ATProto/Bluesky-Community sind sich nicht immer einig – und das ist in Ordnung. Wir laden zum Dialog ein, insbesondere mit denen, die Brücken zwischen unseren Welten bauen.

Der FediDay 2026 findet vom 11. bis 13 September auf der #cbase in Berlin statt – einem #Hackerspace, der sich in den Trümmern einer #Raumstation befindet, die vor 3,5 Milliarden Jahren hier abgestürzt ist. Wir beginnen am Freitagabend mit einem #Empfang zum Kennenlernen, und setzen die #Veranstaltung am Samstag und Sonntag parallel auf drei Bühnen fort.

I just #reported a very cheesy account, completely AI generated (also the comments). They wanted to collect people's #DNA (and you had to pay 20 something $ for it!). it was intended to give the impression being something official from the EU. At best, it was a scam; at worst, extremely dangerous.

It took only minutes and the account was pulverised. 😊 This service you don't get on big platforms!

Moderating your server's trends is really important, as it means you can pre-emptively prevent nasty or hateful content appearing in your server's trending sections. You can also optionally prevent entire accounts from appearing in trends.

Community moderators have the ability to escalate advisories to recommendations (or retract frivolous advisories, perhaps), with the entire feed visible in FIRES.

Those who receive an advisory are welcome to also log in, contest the advisory or report, and provide counter evidence of their own (to the moderators, we aren't having troll wars in public here).

And if you want to use Pelago to set up your own FIRES server and create your own advisories for your own moderation network, you certainly can.

You can find out more about FIRES, which is a protocol designed for composeable moderation on the Fediverse, an evolution beyond blocklists.
