Given the repugnant statements from the right regarding the attack on 82 year old Paul Pelosi, I am heartened by the outpouring of sympathy and best wishes for the daughter of Ted Cruz, who like far too many of our young people, seek refuge in self harm.

It’s a hidden epidemic that is all too often swept under the carpet. While there is NOTHING on which I agree with Ted Cruz, I wish his daughter nothing but my best wishes for her full recovery, hoping she receives the help she needs.

I applaud your open mindedness. Imagine having a father who in the public eye is a complete and total idiot. It's hard for kids to live and deal with that! I sometimes wonder how Barron trump deals with that issue as well! The sins of the parents get passed to their children......

@politicsusa46 This is quite disturbing and sad. I pray she gets the help and support she seeks and that this is an eye opener for Sen. Ted Cruz and the family.

Noone, especially a child, should have to go through this or feel that self harm is the answer. We as parents, leaders, and lawmakers need to do better!

@politicsusa46 my best wishes on her health. Our children, the young middle age of today are and have suffered, all without much said. It seems many children of Vietnam vets suffer a mental illness, not saying Ted Cruz is any kind of vet :). Under the radar they ride, some fall into the depths of the unknown. I pray that we see this trend and help.

Kudos to you and the empathy you possess that Ted Cruz lacks. One would think it is an essential element of his chosen profession. You are a far better person than he will ever be.
