T-SQL function "sin" (aka sinus)
translated to German as "SÜNDE" (sin, the religious thing)

@Johann150 @aetios Das ist aber nicht gut übersetzt. Da feht z.B.
Sign -> Schild
Round -> Rund

@Microfractal
Die ziehen das mit der Maschinenübersetzung jetzt einfach durch: https://docs.github.com/de/organizations/collaborating-with-groups-in-organizations/customizing-your-organizations-profile
Oder hat von euch schonmal wer von einer INFODATEI gehört? Nein? Ich nämlich auch nicht. Das Umschalten auf Englisch eröffnet dann, dass damit die README gemeint ist.
Es wäre aus meiner Sicht nicht so, dass die Dinge dadurch besser würden.
@Johann150 @aetios
ceiling to «plafond» which is architecturally correct but mathematically is used for a maximum possible value and not rounding.
i see you are working diligently huhBüro herunterladen
@Johann150 its not the yellow from the Egg i would say...
Good to know they still use Humans for the Translations that actually speak the language. I mean with their "microslop" discord ban it would be really bad If their products would be sloppy...
*Checks notes*
Oh
@Johann150 The msdn-delocalizer extension does work on Chrome / Edge, too: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/msdn-delocalizer/oakieneemalliefelmegebjjagnjgpbm 😏
But I get the sentiment — frequently I feel my work IT setup to be highly sub-optimal, too.
@Johann150 @iris both come from the Latin word "sinus" meaning "sac, bend, bosom". The mathematical term is a latin (edit: mis-)translation of an Arab transliteration of the Sanskrit "jiyā" word meaning "chord" or "bowstring" https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sine
German indeed uses "sinus" for the math function. No danger of mixing up the terms though, as the nose sinus is called "Nasennebenhöhlen" (=cavities next to the nose).
@iris @Johann150 Nasenlöcher, i.e. nose holes.
(sinus infection works out to a Nasennebenhöhlenentzündung = inflammation of the cavities next to the nose. Also great for scrabble if you can get all the Umlauts.)
Yesterday, we had the Google Play Comments “Maut” and “Darm”. Showing the originals revealed “toll” and “gut”.
BŰN, which is also the religious kind of sin
