people are also quick to assume that just because i emigrated by choice it means i have 0 cultural or emotional ties to my birthplace
i really wish people stopped putting flags in their bio to show ideological support or agreement because it just means that i, as a Taiwanese person, can’t put my own flag in my own profile or I’ll be seen as an American imperialist and colonist despite literally being the colonised
it would be really funny to release the entirety of An Inverted Paracosm on fedi as one singular post but i think it’d be more than 100k characters (this instance’s limit)

and like of course people who end up seeking code from AI can’t accurately judge the code– they sought help because they don’t have the specialised knowledge! of course they can’t judge the code because they Don’t have the specialty!
if you want to make a change you should consider helping people when they have questions. i try my absolute best to be as informative and helpful as possible whenever someone has a question with graphics programming. I’m not saying anti-AI was somehow a form of elitism, but that the reason people use AI for code is largely due to the elitism that people have mostly just ignored or helped perpetuate.

I really hate AI but as someone who’s highly competent in code there’s a surprisingly huge and ignored gap between programmers when it comes to sharing specialised experience and knowledge. everyone knows the catgirls love infodumping about conlangs whenever the chance is given but what about compiler? what about embedding scripting languages? what about graphics programming? audio? reflection? cryptography? hashing? data structure? UI? database? WEB?

at some point in my life I’ve asked questions about those things directly to a sea of specialists and gotten basically nothing back because people seem extremely disinterested in bridging the experience gap or provide helpful resources. this has been a problem for almost as long as programming has been a thing and AI is just making the problem more pronounced.
