I'd not be pissed if I had actually violated some ToS or something.

- I didn't use any #bots or #tools.
- I merely used the provided #LinkGenerator on https://partner.ebay.com
- I didn't use #Messengers or #eMail to advertise or spread #AffiliateLinks.

All that seemingly happened was someone following a link on this post, but buying some other item in the €250+ range and that got me flagged or something...

Here is my principles for messanger:
1 Short, bite-sized chunks.
2 Time and context awarness.
3 Visual structured.
4 Treat the sender's name with care.
5 Always replay if sender is online.
6 First think what, then think why - what sender

Quite a strange situation in Russia: on the one hand, almost all foreign #messengers that deserve attention are blocked, on the other hand, the #Signal #messenger creates obstacles for users in #Russia and not only.

Any piece of Software that lets you share Media with others, be it #messengers like #signal or SMPs like #mastodon or #bluesky, should prompt you to decide, whether you want to keep, change or delete the #metadata of the media file.

The same goes imo for any application, that lets you insert media files into larger documents, like #zettlr, #joplin, #LibreOffice, etc.

All these applications should offer both, a default setting AND a per-file prompt/switch that allows to make this decision.

This is BETTER than stripping metadata silently by default because:

* it creates awareness for the issue with the user base.
* I do not have to remember for each application I work with, how it handles the problem. (I should not have to read through the docs for this!)
* thus I will not have to use third party tools to remove metadata each time i share a pic, when it is actually done by the main application anyway.
* last but not least, there are cases where it is better or even important to preserve metadata.

There are many old folks in IRC still. IRC is very healthy.

But there are proprietary Slack and open the Matrix that can be
turned to IRC group. Telegram have lack of this ability.

IRC folks says: we all know censorship only works when messages
are recorded, not just forwarded.

PS. What is learning? Searching for new latent spaces.

There are two approaches for messengers: "phonetube" ♂ and
"blogging" ♁.
- phonetube: IRC - don't allow to edit previous messages
- blogging: Telegram, the Matrix, Slack, web forums

I installed "Irssi" IRC client, terminal based. ⧂
You edit message and can not undo change that was not sent yet.
It is like to have a perfect mighty sword and you are limited to use it. #Irssi #irc #messaging #messengers #communication #censorship
