Dave RobinsonI first installed an XMPP server back when it was Jabber over 20 years ago, and I remember chatting to people on Google Talk, before they decided to do their own thing. Having just installed Prosody (#XMPP) and Tuwunel (#Matrix) servers, both of which are excellent, I am personally of the opinion that XMPP is a lot more sensible.

methuselahI wish for a day when we can just have a dnf or deb file for xmpp, with UI that u just run and can see everything like windows movie maker to host everything, not to worry about techy things. But already offered xmpp public servers are very good and reliable though from volunteers!
