This study adapts the MS2-MCP system to visualize endogenous mRNAs in Caenorhabditis elegans. Inactivating nonsense-mediated decay and expressing low levels of cytoplasmic MCP allows the live imaging of functional, cytoplasmic transcripts in the nematode.

According to the National Cancer Institute, mRNA vaccines are being studied to treat people with various types of cancer. The research that was done to treat people with cancer before the pandemic struck helped spearhead the COVID vaccine, the NCI says.
