Sometimes now I dream of being out somewhere busy--such as a shopping mall, church, or other large gathering--yet somehow I have forgotten my respirator and don't even have a disposable one for backup. 😳

As the dream goes on, I change from making hopeful excuses to myself such as "I won't be here long, exposure is probably minimal" to being more and more worried that with being on sustained #oral #chemotherapy, the risks are just getting higher and far too unsafe. 😱

At that point, some sort of panic-type threshhold is met, and I awaken.

This dream seems a perfectly reasonable update to the whole 'arriving without pants for a high school exam' trope … but the REALLY weird bit, IMO, is that IRL, I am wearing a #CPAP mask throughout the night.

Every night.

There is no part of my 24 hours where at least eight of them include wearing a well-sealed, pressurised mask.

And, IRL, I never mix in public or uncertain spaces without my #ElastomericRespirator due to chemo, etc.

Utterly wild experience. 😂😂😂

A laboratory test — or assay — developed in Sudbury, Ont., to measure the effectiveness of chemotherapy is one step closer to becoming commercially available.

As one living with multiple #immune #disorders AND ALSO presently requiring #oral #chemotherapy to keep one of them from getting worse than it already is, I *implore* everyone who can to take all measures to avoid ACQUIRING an immune-destroying #disease.

Sure, you may live through it, and possibly even with it. I've outlived my first predicted #BestBefore date nearly thrice-over … but despite excellent medical care and strong compliance for taking relevant #Rx, ongoing daily exercise (gentle, eg: #TaiChi), none of that will ensure this delicately-balanced pile of compromises won't fall down and shatter me into nothingness from these same diseases.

I LIKE being alive. ❤️ I've figured out a lot of ways with living with all the complications remaining alive has presented. But I suspect I might've enjoyed being alive a lot more WITHOUT all these issues.

Avoid it. 😢

Exercise Boosts Chemotherapy. Exercise during chemotherapy significantly improves quality of life for women with breast cancer. #exercise #chemotherapy #breastcancer

Howard G. Smith MD, AM on Instagram: "Exercise Boosts Chemotherapy Exercise during chemotherapy significantly improves quality of life for women with breast cancer—according to a new meta-analysis from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, published in The Lancet Healthy Longevity. The key finding: patients who stayed physically active during treatment felt better not just physically, but emotionally and mentally—challenging the long-standing uncertainty about whether exercise helps or hurts during chemotherapy. Researchers meta-analyzed 21 randomized controlled trials involving more than 3,000 women undergoing chemotherapy for breast CA. The result: patients who participated in structured exercise programs—ranging from walking and cycling to strength training or combined routines—showed significant improvements in overall quality of life compared to those receiving standard care alone along with their chemo. Benefits were consistent including both physical and emotional. A key finding: no single type of exercise proved superior so do anything that moves you literally. For the average patient, exercise during chemotherapy doesn’t need to be intense to be beneficial. Safe, personalized activity, even light exercise, helps reduce fatigue, improve mood, and maintain strength during those weeks to months of infusions. The data shows that matters most is consistency and adapting activity to how you feel day to day. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanhl/article/PIIS2666-7568(26)00003-6/fulltext https://www.news-medical.net/news/20260226/Exercise-during-chemotherapy-boosts-breast-cancer-patients-quality-of-life.aspx #exercise #chemotherapy #breastcancer"

my Cancer Team is AWESOME but when patients are sometimes advised to "eat whatever U want" ~ I DISAGREE & Don't comply! My ailing body Needs food that NOURISHES & That certainly isn't going to be a steady supply of junk food that I *want* (occasional treats are ok😋).
Oncology doctors are experts on mainstream medical care like #chemotherapy #radiation #immunotherapy , Not #nutrition
They prescribe the most helpful #cancertreatment possible while I manage my grocery list, pantry & kitchen stove😉
