When the elevator drops too quickly in a high rise building
Or the plunge on a roller coaster leaves my stomach flipped
Like some kind of circuit or my clumsy feet tripped
Maybe that’s why I’m a little scared and I know this feeling
Maybe that’s why it feels like I’m falling.

Poop. Shit. Flying around.

We took us too near to the edge of the cliff,
Where there was nothing but our demons, wild and free.

Your demons pretended to be you,
My demons pretended to be me,
And we scared the living poop shit out of each other.

You jumped, I stayed, but it makes no difference.
I blame you for jumping, you blame me for staying, and we will never never forgive each other.

I curse you with blood. You hate me with poison. We will never trust, never dare, never heal, never care about anyone or anything ever ever ever again.

Demons flying wild and free.

Love Poems

Ten years ago, I told my cousin, Khaled— West Bank cologne salesman, aspiring chicken factory farm owner— I’d come back in six months.

The Poetry Foundation

in me the moon rises
in me the sea swells
in me the surf breaks

my heart awakens
to the song of waves
my tides
seek you out

i carry too much ocean within me
for a quiet life

all of me is drawn to you
again, again

with you i want to be the tide
with you i forget the shore
with you i am
open sea

Her breast is fit for pearls,
But I was not a “diver” —
Her brow is fit for thrones
But I have not a crest.
Her heart is fit for home —
I — a sparrow — build there
Sweet of twigs and twine
My perennial nest.

Still Here 🧵 1 of 2
by Crissy Bliss Addams

she spoke to me from behind the glass
at the Humane Society —
not with a cry,
but a casual hello,
like we’d always known each other.

She’d was found on the streets,
a young mother with newborns.
Her kittens were adopted,
she was fixed,
and finally free to be chosen.
She chose me.
And I said yes.

She’s never been a lap cat.
But if when I'm peaceful,
she’ll sit nearby —
close enough to feel me,
far enough to be herself.

As she grew older,
she wanted to be outside more.
Not alone —
with me.
So I followed her into the sun,
into the quiet,
into the rhythm of her world.

🔥 Return to the Flame
by Crissy Bliss Addams

I don’t wait—
I ache.
I stretch across hours
like silk pulled taut
over desire.

The bed misses your weight.
My body misses your caress.
I miss the way you unravel me
with a glance,
then stitch me back together
with your hands.

This is not patience—
it’s hunger.
It’s the slow burn
of a lioness pacing,
claws unsheathed,
mouth wet with want.

I am not lonely—
I am loaded.
Primed.
Every cell rehearsing
the choreography of our reunion.

You are the storm I crave.
The sweat.
The surrender.
The sacred heat
that makes me forget
everything but you.

Come home,
and I will show you
how love tastes
when it’s starved,
how pleasure feels
when it’s earned.

I am not waiting—
I am ready.
And when you walk through that door,
I will ignite again.
For you.
With you.
Into you.

🔥 I am the fire that never flickers—only flares when you return.
