Canadian here: Yeah, no. We're never trusting you guys again. Even if there are legitimate elections in 2026 and even if the Democrats win:
* You're one election away from another Trump. Your electoral system allows dictators.
* The entire Republican Party has taken their mask off, and they're all unprincipled scum.

Carney's parents taught him some disturbing life lessons, by the sounds of it. Might as well keep arming Israel, drop sanctions on Russia, etc.
The people anxiously sipping hot chocolate in the Canadian Embassy in Washington on a cold night in January almost a year ago couldn’t have predicted the roller-coaster of trade provocations and bilateral blow-ups the next 12 months would bring.
