Depicting sapphic couples and bonds as "pure", "mystic", "whimsical", inheretly sensitive... seems like a kind of lesbophobia to me, and it's a dynamic taking place even within the community sometimes. And carries risks with it. It not only depparts from patriarchal stereotypes of womanhood and feminity (often excluding transfems tho), but it can also conceal power dynamics and toxic traits in sapphic relationships.

No, sapphic relations are *not* light pure nor alien to patriarchy. Yes, there are also abuses in sapphic relations, often under the forms of a transposition of power relations.

We often replicate heteronormative traditional roles and behaviors within our verily bonds, no matter how queer and sapphic we are, it's a burden that may even take a years long effort to overcome. We must recognize it if we want to tackle the problem. I do know about abusive experiences of women in my environment with sapphic partners. I do also know that trans people are more vulnerable to abuse ALSO in sapphic and gay couples than their cis counterparts.

I know it may feel unsettling to some, but I think that sometimes the violence inside our community goes unnoticed.
