I've written about how Microsoft's fix for a symlink vulnerability introduces another symlink vulnerability, where all users (including non-admins) can stop all future Windows OS security patches https://doublepulsar.com/microsofts-patch-for-cve-2025-21204-symlink-vulnerability-introduces-another-symlink-vulnerability-9ea085537741
Microsoft’s patch for CVE-2025–21204 symlink vulnerability introduces another symlink vulnerability

Microsoft recently patched CVE-2025–21204, a vuln which allows users to abuse symlinks to elevate privileges using the Windows servicing stack and the c:\inetpub folder. There’s a good write up here…

Damn, the people in charge of the #USA *really* just hate #LGBTQ people to #death. Literally. 💀

This is #evil.

Are you f* kidding me, Apple?!

After a long time, I filed another bug report using Feedback Assistant because the bug was bad enough that it’s worth the effort of writing it all down.

When uploading a sysdiagnose (or probably any other attachments) you get the usual privacy notice that there is likely a lot of private and other sensitive info in those log files. It’s not a great feeling but it is what it is with diagnostic data and I mostly trust the folks at Apple to treat it with respect and I trust the Logging system to redact the most serious bits.

However, when filing a feedback today a noticed a new addition to the privacy notice:

"By submitting, you […] agree that Apple may use your submission to [train] Apple Intelligence models and other machine learning models."

WTF? No! I don’t want that. It’s extremely shitty behavior to a) even ask me this in this context where I entrust you with *my* sensitive data to help *you* fix your shit to b) hide it in the other privacy messaging stuff and to c) not give me any way to opt out except for not filing a bug report.

Do you really need *more* reasons for developers not to file bug reports? Are the people who decided to do this really this ignorant about the image Apple‘s bug reporting process has in the community? How can you even think for a single second that this is an acceptable idea?

So, WTF, Apple?!

Pope Francis was also a #sexist. He was the head of a LITERAL #patriarchy. Because the position of pope as well as a lot of other important positions in the Church) is man-only. He both benefitted and was head of a LITERAL patriarchy, i.e. a system where men call all the shots.

He therefore was a sexist. It's inherent to the role.

He was anti-#abortion, too (which is an anti-women position IMO).

It's true, #Pope francis sometimes spoke out for #LGBTQ people. However, this "support" was conditional: Whenever an important #Church #dogma and #LGBTQ people came into conflict with each other, the #Church dogma won. Therein lies the problem.

He was not the worst homophobe the world has ever seen. There are many hate preachers worse than him. But he still was a homophobe and transphobe overall.

Let’s stop pretending he was a "great reformer". No, he was just *less bad*.

#Pope #Francis was NOT an #ally to the #LGBTQ community. He was a homophobe and transphobe. Just like the #Church itself is #homophobic and #transphobic.

👎 He spoke out against #marriage equality multiple times and used his influence to stop change for the better
👎 He fearmongered against "gender ideology" and gender-affirming surgery. (Ironic cuz the Church is BUILT on #gender-based dogmatism)
👎 He suggested "psychiatric treatment" for young gays
👎 He fearmongered against a "#gay lobby"

I just debugged someone else's code, that I have only seen once via a screen share in December or January.

The worst part about that is that I have nobody around me who understands just how cool that actually is.

#HadesRevisited version 0.17.0 is out now!
This update makes many changes to the plant growth system. The seasons and seeds have become much more important, as different plants grow.

The codebase has also more or less stabilized; I expect future updates to break things not as aggressively as before. Remember this game is still very WIP, so the balancing might be off.

[Game] Hades Revisited [0.17.0] - Page 8 - Luanti Forums

This #InternationalAsexualityDay, let's review some facts about how aces can be treated negatively in both queer and straight environments, as well as things that *aren't* acephobic.

Things that are discriminatory or exclusionary against aces:
- Leaving asexuality out of sexual education
- Blanket statements like "everyone is a sexual being"
- Dismissing asexuality as a valid orientation
- Claiming aces are never discriminated against
- Treating aces as "hetero lite"
- Saying it's just a phase or due to mental health barriers
- Shutting down any discussion when the topic of asexuality comes up
- Virgin shaming or suggesting that someone's problems are caused by not getting laid
- Sexual advances intended to seduce someone or prove they're not ace
- Counselling that seeks to change someone to no longer identify as ace
- Marriage consummation laws/practices in both civil and religious contexts
- Being JK Rowling (apparently)

Things that are NOT discriminatory or exclusionary against aces:
- Promoting awareness of sexual health
- Fighting sexual stigmas
- Advocating for sex workers' rights
- Creating environments for safe sexual exploration and interaction
- Counselling that affirms someone's sexual needs are valid
- Sexual expression and discussion in consensual environments where it is easy to opt out
- Ending relationships because of sexual compatibility concerns
- An individual no longer identifying as ace if their experiences lead them to that conclusion

Aces can get excluded from queer environments because of assumptions of prudishness or elitism or dismissing that it's a real orientation that people simply are. But asexuality is a minority orientation just like lesbian, gay, bi, or pan. Our needs and experiences are different but complementary; sexual diversity is the strength of the community after all.

There is significant overlap with aces and other queer identities, like aces with gay/bi/pan romantic orientations (feeling romantic connection without an associated draw towards sex), or trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming aces. Cutting us off from expressing one side of ourselves because it's not sexy enough or can (allegedly) be easily hidden is dividing a community that should be united.
