My latest publication on native honey bee introgression in Britain and Ireland is out. Worth a look even if you just want to enjoy some pie charts overlayed onto maps!

Tropical Heliconius butterflies are well known for the bright color patterns on their wings. These striking color patterns not only scare off predators—the butterflies are poisonous and are distasteful to birds—but are also important signals during mate selection.
If you work on evolutionary networks (ancestral recombination graphs, #admixture graphs, #phylogenetic networks), please submit an abstract to our symposium on "Networks in population genetics and phylogenetics: Theory, methods, and applications". It will be part of #Evol2024 in Montreal, July 26-30: https://www.evolutionmeetings.org
A genomic study of 229 individuals from a Penstemon species complex that includes both bee and hummingbird pollination syndromes reveals that although genome-wide differentiation between species is minimal, about 20 "species-diagnostic loci," with fixed differences between syndromes, are sprinkled throughout the genome in high recombination regions.
