I started a new book last night: Black Women Taught Us by Dr. Jenn M Jackson.

It got me thinking that something I want to challenge myself to do this year is read more anti-racism non-fiction. I think my goal is going to be 6. Which sounds maybe like not a lot, but I have always struggled to read "fact books". But this is important, and while I follow many incredible teachers online (including Dr Jackson) it's time to dig in some more.

Hey!

My novel, TAB'S TERRIBLE THIRD EYE, is now a Finalist in CIBA's SHELLEY AWARDS for Paranormal Fiction! Announcement follows.

You can order a copy from just about anywhere, but physical copies ordered from my site (isaacthorne.com) come with my signature and some cool evil bunny stickers.

Finished reading @emilymbender and @alex book The AI Con last night. It feels like the final project to a long degree course in AI skepticism. You might be familiar with a lot of it depending on your media diet but it's written very clearly and lets you dig into different parts you maybe don't know as well. I would definitely recommend it to everyone who's even the least bit interested in technology.

I made these QR using the feature in Vivaldi's browser so its easier to share them. I wouldn't create malicious qr.

Book 1 of 2026.

Starting out strong. This book is fast paced and very good. Not much happens. It spans an entire life of a protagonist who is extremely simple...starting and ending in the same apartment in Hungary.

Recommended.

With the news being so unrelentingly bleak, the nights being long, and the weather cold and grey, I wanted to sink into something epic and escapist.

Several people have recommended Ken Follet's Kingsbridge historical novels to me over the years, but I've never fancied them.

Started the first one, The Pillars of The Earth, on New Year's Day & I'm hooked.

400 pages in (and 600+ to go ) & I've bought the rest of the series 😀

I've finally posted my 2025 reading wrap-up over on my book blog, and I talk a lot about wanting to be mindful of consumption in 2026, working through my TBR pile, using the library even more, etc.
