UAE’s first road-rail ambulanc...

#GadgetBahn alert: a van retrofitted with train wheels, promising up to 100 km/h on abandoned tracks in driverless mode! 🤔
@dominicstucki By the way, isn't it ironic that to an outsider, the most obvious way to recognise a route having ETCS, where the point is that there are no lineside signals, is to notice those very easily recognisable (and charming) marker boards. (I want a t-shirt with such a graphic.)
Pic: ETCS board in Wuppertal, for the Danglebahn, the Mother of All #Gadgetbahn:s, and the only one we actually love.
@EUCommission This is almost the very definition of a #Gadgetbahn... no better than a private car or robo-taxi without route flexibility!
If you want public transit to succeed while efficiently transporting the masses and reducing dependence on private vehicles, then fund cycling, buses, trams and light rail instead.

#Gadgetbahn alert! From the European Commission even. I seriously hope they don't pour too much of taxpayer money into this.
