Krótki film o miłości | A Short Film About Love (Krzysztof Kieślowski, 1988) I've always been wary of Kieślowski but I decided to watch this at the cinema as voyeurism is one of the fundamental themes of cinema. I was pleasantly surprised by this calm and sad tale of a young man who spies on his beautiful but unhappy neighbour. Observed in a distant yet empathetic manner eschewing the thriller element and overt moralism. A very elegant film.

A ★★★★ review of A Short Film About Love (1988)

Beautiful and sad. I love films about voyeurism, perhaps the quintessential subject of cinema, and Kieślowski gives us a great contribution to the genre. Perfectly balanced, the confrontation comes earlier than in American films, creating room for an intriguing interplay of half-understood desires. With flashes of humour too.

Top Gun: Maverick was my favorite movie of the year, but The Banshees of Inisherin is the movie I can't stop thinking about. Just watched it again; a true masterpiece. Hilarious, deep, dark, and emotional. There are so many layers to this movie.

Just finished up The Matrix for the gazillionth time. I'm always expecting it to not have aged well, but it's still awesome. Aside from all the "He is the ones," which are a little cringey, it's always as good as I remember.

Somehow I'd never seen Shaun of the Dead before. Rectified that tonight. One of the best first acts from any zombie movie. Loved all the background stuff, so funny.
