I'm unsure why I feel cringey icky energy - when I watch some vids from a stranger - Parkrose Permaculture.
Maybe some or many of you are her fans. I can't put my finger on it. I'm just telling you, from my heartcore that I don't trust her energy & a lot of it feels like riffing off BIPOC vids/lived experiences to increase her own platform. It reeks of #WhiteSaviour energy.

Like I treat many online influencers/wannabes - I ask these questions to field out.

Are you willing to stay for bad times too, including wearing adult diapers during multiple days standoffs?
I have.

Are you willing to stay out day/night in shitty weather & not retreat to a warm hotel?
I have.

Are you willing to get tear gassed/maced/shot at - on almost daily basis - for months & lose your work incomes doing direct actions for humanity?
I have.

There is a stark difference, for almost all of us POC activists, between a #WhiteSaviour & a #WhiteComrade.

The former tries to speak for & above us. The latter would never try to speak for & above us.

Recognize the difference in #respect levels.
Recognize that we #POC activists pay attention & know the difference, quite well. We like & are appreciative of white comrades. We don't like or respect white saviours.

Do you see white people helping black people? #MSF has used for years pictures of white doctors and black patients to raise awareness and funds.

This has helped perpetuate the "#whitesaviour" syndrome and other racist prejudices.
