Sono profondamente legato all'India, ma questo documentario, nonostante metta in scena la gioia della vita e della rinascita in occasione della "Festa dei colori" (Holi), mi ha lasciato una tristezza indescrivibile.
Non sapevo del terribile destino che attende le donne rimaste vedove in molti villaggi dell'India. Dopo la morte del loro marito vengono emarginate, stigmatizzate e costrette a indossare il bianco, il colore della morte; allontanate e abbandonate persino dalle loro famiglie.
A Vrindavan, però, grazie al lavoro di una ONG e di alcuni volontari, trovano rifugio in case loro riservate e possono così celebrare Holi, la festa dei colori.
Ad oggi, Vrindavan è l'unico posto in India dove alle donne vedove è consentito festeggiare l'Holi.
