I wasn't a fan of the last half of #Weapons. Anyone else feel like the character of James was a misfire? He's what conservatives think all homeless people are like.
I was into it until the "villain" took the spotlight. The movie has an intriguing premise, structure, and build up, but then the "kids aren't alright" theme was overshadowed by its lavish horror. Cregger was inspired to make this film based on his own experience with grief and alcoholism. Unfortunately, his intent didn't always land for me. James, in particular, felt like a comic relief stereotype of an addict.
