The anatomy of a #VacuumCleaners.
Timely article on The Verge, given my recent post about my Roomba battery being kaput. And that I might get a new robot vacuum.

*apparently, the 'V' on my keyboard needs vacuuming so it won't stick so much. Also apparently, editing a CW doesn't edit the CW in the replies (because, doh!, why should it?). So I edited the 'v's in; but then I edited them back out so the people who already replied wouldn't be stuck out there alone with adice & acuums.)
So, my current vacuum cleaner is one that my sister gave me when she moved in 2017. (She owned three perfectly functional vacuum cleaners - who does that?)
Anyway, it's a bagless model with a HEPA filter, probably from the mid-20-zeroes (the mid-aughts?); and it does all the things it's supposed to do.
Or it would if I used it more. I tend to find pushing it around pretty exhausting, with the result that not nearly enough vacuuming happens around here.
I'm wondering if a new more-up-to-date vacuum cleaner with all the latest super-typhoon ultra-technology would significantly easier to use. Are there any Fedipeople out there who buy new vacuum cleaners more often than they renew their passports; & could shed some light on whether vacuum cleaners have become noticeably easier to use since the last Obama administration?
*note: while I would love to have a robot vacuum cleaner, that's not a feasible option right now.
"Our vacuum sucks more than the other vacuums out there!"
"It is crap, then."
"No, I said that it sucks more!"
"Yes, crap. If John sucks more than Bob, then John is worse."
"This is a vacuum cleaner."
"Yes."
"You want it to suck."
"Hell, no! I was a good vacuum cleaner, not one that sucks."
"Yes, but a good vacuum cleaner sucks."
"On what planet does a good vacuum cleaner suck? If it is good, then forcibly it does not suck!"
"Let me try another approach. Babies suck, right?"
"Babies? What's gotten into you? Babies are great! They don't suck."
"Have you ever heard of something called a pacifier?"
"You mean someone who promotes peace? What does it have anything to do with our discussion? We're talking about vacuum cleaners and babies."
