I have a very mixed relationship with The French Connection. I know that I've seen William Friedkin's lauded crime thriller before in its entirety, but I couldn't tell you when. I feel like it was either in college or soon after, when I was really expanding my knowledge of cinema, but I can't tell you for sure. What I can say for sure is that I have tried no less than five times to rewatch The French Connection without success. One of those times, outside forces intervened and I had to stop it very early. Vous avez vu French Connection @kawoua et @cathy ? Le premier plan, c’est la petite calanque de Marseille où j’ai déjeuné une fois, et dont j’ai parlé il y a un bout de temps (pas celle de La Ciotat, bien sûr). Après, un plan sur le Vieux-Port (classique), et puis on marche dans le Panier (classique aussi, c’est que des clichés, c’est drôle !) et paf ! Il y en a un qui se fait dézinguer par un autre (c’est juste pour dire qu’on ne rigole pas avec les personnages du film, Frog #1 et Frog #2 😊)

Ben je crois que je ne l’avais jamais vu, en tout cas pas en salle dans ces super conditions.

Épatant, French Connection en salle ! Pas dormi une minute (malgré mes trois heures de sommeil, la nuit dernière).

Et tu sais quoi ? je crois que je ne l’avais jamais vu ! Des bouts à la télé, sûrement ; la poursuite bagnole / métro sur YouTube. Mais je ne me souviens pas du film entier.

L’interprétation de Gene Hackman, halluciné de bout en bout, Chief Brody, Fernando Rey, Marcel Bozzuffi \o/

Les cadres à l’épaule merveilleux, la nervosité du montage, la musique.

Du plaisir pur.
