I think the hardest part was watching that character and just being angry and wanting to hit him and saying out loud “dude be fucking normal!”
So, i guess that’s what happens when that’s all you feel and hear from everyone you get. Internalized self-hatred.
The worst thing about that character though is that it was an accurate representation of me in high school.
I am not fucking around here! Like some motherfucker took video of me in high school and made that goddamn character from it and I am pissed!
Like literally I had the same clothing and the same jacket and I had a military backpack that I carried around and I had the clash T-shirt and I had the braided ponytails (in my orange mohawk) and I acted the same way.
That was the most creepy, weird awkward Eggie character in a movie ever. And it was 100% me. It was unreal and very, very creepy to watch.
The biggest thing that I took away was the very gender queer character… Emmanuel?
Always in crazy ass clothes? T-shirts cut in the shape of bras and shit! What the fuck was up with that!?? That character was extremely obviously an egg and also a manic pixie autistic girl.
OK, I was too tired last night to give a short review of my #Hackers #FirstWatch so I wanted to say a couple things.
First of all, I think it was a little late to watch it. The movie is now dated enough that it feels… Quaint?… Cute? Like I think it probably would have been good in the 90s and early 2000s but it was just too far removed now and it did not date very well.
