Walter Hill – „Geronimo – Eine Legende“ (1993)

Der Mythos des „edlen Wilden“ zieht sich durch die Popkultur wie ein rostiger Spalt durch rotes Gestein. In diesem Western von Walter Hill sehen wir, was vor 30 Jahren noch vom kolonialen Blick auf indigene Widerstandskämpfer:innen übrig war, auch wenn Hollywood sich redlich Mühe gab. Kevin Costner hat schließlich schon drei Jahre zuvor bewiesen, dass der Genozid an Native Americans auch mit orchestraler Melancholie in Szene gesetzt werden kann.
