I'm in for ~120 with them and I have a 4c+ 4gb, 5 8gb, 1 firebeetle? Esp32 and 2 esp32 with 3 mp cameras with timers and wifi. 1 as part of m5 stack with case and battery!

Really, I've just gotten way into nerding out on the #fediverse and it's potential for resistance. The next logical step is #SelfHosting a portable instance in an old Soviet oscilloscope scope case, of course. 😂
But, those concerns should give everyone pause. I'm still not convinced on best alternatives to free #Cloudflare tunnel to protect home ISP.
Still not sold on the name, either.

My goal for this year is to have a portable self-hosted instance (#Fediport) with at least 3 connection (Ethernet, wifi & bluetooth) and charging options (solar, 12v and 110v)

A metal case that holds at least one #SBC like a #RaspberryPi alternative, Rock4C+, a rechargable battery, and multiple connections and charging options to keep the instance operating but portable.

I think that I will build mine out of the Soviet oscilloscope in first post, but it can be a simple metal, acrylic or #3dPrinted box. It doesn't even need a screen because you can use external monitors.

I decided to give it a go and see if people wanted to participate in something new and different.
The plan, as I currently see it, should proceed in steps. The initial crowdfunding goal is to construct 2 #Fediports. 1 to use #SelfHosting a new #Fediverse #instance and another to sell to pay for the building of 2 more Fediports.
This should both support the Fediverse and raising capital to form an instance-owned non-profit. All decisions going forward would be up to a vote of the mon-profit instance members.
The full #Solardeck, made as a working demo to portably host the instance, will consist of a #SBC Fediport and #Gemini #capsule. This will give BT, WIFI & FIber connectivity. Cell SIM & #HAMRadio as add-ons.
