@tg hi Terry, my name is Masato. And I got to the end of your article about the boring web. I concur with most of what you say about small little Federated services getting a little bit more attention. Like #Mastodon here. And also the durability of these old ancient protocols that continues to persist, even though most people have no idea what goes on underneath.
I’m currently moving backwards to #Teamspeak and himself hosting my own server. It’s delightful! I used to do it a lot more, but I got out of the habit of it mostly due to full-time job and convenience.
But now nowadays, I’m getting much more into it and I’m also going to set up my own little #Apache, Web server, and mean a few friends are gonna make a #WebRing I’m really quite excited to see what it has in store for us.
I’m also eager to continue putting up more and more services and encouraging my friends and family to use them. There is a very high base reluctance for any of them to switch off of what they’re currently doing or using. Meaning they just don’t wanna do it.
But I got a fair enough of people to get off of #Discord. And I’m eager to continue pushing people in what I feel is the right direction.
