"SINGAPORE - As it repeals Section 377A, the Government will also make clear in the Constitution that it is Parliament's prerogative to define marriage as being between a man and a woman [...] Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam said on Monday (Aug 22).

This is different from enshrining the definition of marriage in the highest law of the land, but will stave off legal challenges on the definition of marriage, he added."

One of my biggest concerns is that none of us in Singapore know how best to solve repeal #Section377A

#democracy is difficult in our country when we have apathy and learned helplessness. I don't know what the stepping stones are to get to what we want to be, and we as a community do want to get there.

I could use friends out there in the #fediverse

@sohkamyung
please let me know of any updates to this regarding #Section377A :)
While it's good to hear at least that the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor don't intend to prosecute reported cases of consensual sex between men, I hope these three challengers will win their case, and Section 337A gets repealed.

Since this case explicitly mentions sex between men, I'm curious though what the law in #Singapore says about consensual sex between women?
