I went for a walk with Zombie Run Game. Restarted with Season 1 E1, and it was like coming home. I missed Sam Yao.

I've started walking to and from work, in part to be a little more active, but mainly to hear the next bit of the story in my fitness shop. You find out what happens by "playing" the "Zombies, Run!" game. You play music as you move, and it pauses your music periodically to read you the next bit of the story.
You play Runner 5 in a town in a zombie apocalypse - it's your job to run out of the town and collect supplies, and once you've finished a run you can use the supplies you found (they are picked up periodically) to vid and expand your base.
What's frustrating is that I now *really* want to spend this weekend going for a very long walk, and that's something that would have been unthinkable a few weeks ago! My legs are also telling me that they are distinctly unimpressed with all this movement...
Gamification can be used for good :)
Big running day today for a few reasons:
1) I hit 5 miles for the first time since starting running again!
2) I changed my intervals to 5min running and 3 min walking. This is not a big percentage increase, but it does mean I'm running longer at a stretch. It also makes it easier to start dropping out walking time.
3) I started using Zombies Run again! I just started back at season 1 since its been so long. Feels good to once again be #Runner5
Well, I survived my first marathon. And I did better than expected, finishing in 4:18:09. I'm sore all over, but already looking to sign up for my next one!
