If there was a device to make prepping rutabaga easier, I would get it even if it costed $500* because then I could eat more rutabaga.
But alas.
*Definitely not more than that and I'd prefer to keep it under $300. And I believe it'd be a specialised tool I'll get regular use out of, like, if not once a month... certainly more than I play most of my Steam game library. XD
@deepmud I have eaten the roots of burdock 'volunteers' in my garden. The roots aren't of great size until the second year, and they look somewhat like horseradish (white/cream flesh). But not a whole lot of flavour. Tasted as one might imagine a tree root to taste. I understand that burdock root in Asian cuisine is pickled, and that may well make it more palatable. But the roots of the invasive burdock in my garden aren't worth digging up for food.
Between the rain showers I managed to plant some celeriac seedlings today in one of our raised beds.
