The way we Jews describe ourselves in English, a People, an Ethnicity, a civilization, is largely based on the way that Mordechai Kaplan and his reconstructionist colleagues addressed the issue of both the language and goals of Jewish identity in the US (and disapora at large). He cared about Jewish cohesion, Jewish unity, and Jewish goals in the diaspora while still being connected to, and working together with the Zionist movement to create a larger vision for Zionism than just a nation state.

Well, this is one of the most unsettling, borderline terrifying things I've read recently. An evangelical group that has issues with the overreach of government during the pandemic wants to install fundamentalist political candidates and try to oppress us for real (some more than others, of course). And it's all tax free!

Just because there are limits to "reconstructing" #paganism does not mean authenticity goes out the window, and everything is a free-for-all.

Plastic #shamanism, plastic Paddies, #fakelore, etc., still need to be rejected.

History is not the only source of authenticity—or even the main one.
