For no reason in particular, I've ended up reading two different book series recently with zero or just a few human characters but plenty of bipedal nonhuman animal characters. For example, a brave bunny girl and a cynical cat soldier in M. R. Carey's Pandominion series. Or a stalwart elephant scholar and a genocidal yak Senator in Lawrence M. Schoen's Barsk series. Both are currently two books. Schoen says he's working on a third Barsk book but the Pandominion series is done.

Check them out! Go crazy, make a ruckus, and get someone to make movies out of these works!
